Black is the new grey

Whether it’s on walls, floors, your furniture or accessories, black is fast replacing grey as the go-to sophisticated trend colour. Black might appear to be a brave choice, especially on floors, but it’s much more versatile than you would think; it has the ability to completely transform a space immediately, either creating a cool, modern edge or adding a smart classic touch.

Decorating with black doesn’t have to mean that you’ll end up with a dark and gloomy room – contrary to belief, using black actually enhances the structure of a room and can work in any space. As an accent it is a great way of creating a stand-out focal point, such as on a floor, wall, or piece of furniture, and as a key colour it’s guaranteed to add glamour and theatre to a room – you just need to be brave and embrace it with a passion.
