I’ve had a whirlwind October that has seen me travel to Paris for the most glamorous event I’ve ever been to, and to New York to get engaged – so its been pretty eventful!
In the Pink…
October is the start of Breast Cancer Awareness month so it was kicked off with a star studded event that I hosted with the lovely Konnie Huq, who of course was in a lovely Pink Dress.
The evening event took place at the world famous Playboy club in London’s Mayfair. Stars including Ashley James, Tallia Storm and Game of Thrones actress Laura Pradelska in an fabulous Temperley number were out in force to support the amazing Pink Ribbon Foundation and raise lots of money and awareness for charity.
I was also joined for the raffle by my favourite reality show girls Lauren and Ampika. They’re so much fun and have no ‘off’ button, which made for a very amusing over the top evening.
I have been to many, many fabulous events but when I was asked to go to the opening of L’Opera de Paris I jumped at the chance to be whisked away on the Eurostar to such an amazing event.
I decided I needed a glamorous date and none other that the beautiful Millie Mackintosh. We had lunch in a beautiful restaurant where we were shown how to make a delicious simple cocktail. We loved its refreshing taste and ended up having more than one with our delicious food.
We then checked into the beautiful Hotel Costes which is really lovely. We had a quick change, Millie into her vintage sequinned gown and me into my tux!
The gala was out of this world, full of the A-listers including my dear friend Laetita Casta, actress Natalie Portman and her husband creative director of the opera Benjamin Millipead who created a unique piece of theatre for us all to enjoy.
The banquet after the performance was exquisite. We drank, laughed and danced all night. Millie and I both had terrible hang overs the next day but it was totally worth it. Everyone at the event was ultra elegant it was incredibly beautiful.
NYC in Autumn
I then went to New York for a holiday with my partner which turned out to become an engagement. We stayed at the Ganesvoort which is where the Kardashians stay when they come to the meatpacking district. It’s a brilliant hotel and the area is vibrant and ultra cool. As soon as we landed we went to the evening performance of the new musical ‘On Your Feet’, all about the life of the singing superstar Gloria Estefan.
The story is great and it’s full of song, dance, humour and amazing performances. Although we were jet lagged we were on our feet most of the night loving the music and loving life. The next day we went to Central Park and ate at the Boat House, an iconic restaurant which I recommend anyone to go to.
On our return to the hotel I asked my partner to marry me and he said yes! The rest… well the rest was that I was so exhausted I passed out!
On our final day in New York we went to see the hit show Aladdin which was quite simply one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. It was camp, over the top and so much fun. We really did feel like we were in a whole new world – we loved it.
