Early January saw the start of London Collections Men – this is where all the major fashion brands showcase their menswear collections.
London was full of the great and the good of fashion and supermodels Oliver Cheshire and David Gandy were seen promoting the brilliant design collections.
One of my favourite shows was the Chester Barrie. In a celebration of all that is glamorous in the world of menswear Chester Barrie takes classic looks and adds sparkle and modernity – creating a collection for men who need to look their best with their exclusively woven cloths, luxury detailing and textures that are rich and sumptuous.
I am a huge fan of their collections and this season they showcased their collection in the beautiful surroundings of The Waldorf in the heart of London. Lots of great names were there including Dermot O’Leary and Dougie Pointer and of course David Gandy who looked smart in his three piece Chester Barrie suit.
January has been pretty miserable but at least the stars have been out in force at various events after their extended holidays in Barbados.
Early this month I was lucky enough to be invited to the premiere of the new Cirque Du Soleil show at the Royal Albert Hall called Amaluna. The staging was as always so impressive and the show was loosely based on the Shakespeare play the Tempest.
The evening was a mix of balancing acts, contortion and amazing acrobatics with some fun clowning around in the interludes. I would definitely recommend it for families of any age it’s a fabulous night and lots of fun.
At the party there were lots of celebrities in attendance including my dear friend Arlene Phillips who I am working on a very special project with and the wonderful Laura Whitmore who is always so much fun and looked stunning. Other stars who caught my eye in the style stakes were Katherine Jenkins and the beautiful Naomie Harris who looked stunning in a lovely white pleated skirt.
Its been all about the awards, including the National Television Awards at the o2 – the UK’s TV Oscars. I love this event and when they used to do an ITV2 spin off show I was always the style pundit and loved rating and slating the fashion. My best dressed was definitely the beautiful Emma Willis in a stunning Stella McCartney dress that was just a few sizes larger than usual to accommodate her growing baby bump.
The Golden Globes were this month too, I love this ceremony as it feels as if people are less uptight and enjoying themselves a lot. My style winner on the red carpet had to be the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence her bright red dress from Christian Dior just looked amazing and the way it was cut was pure style perfection. And I loved Julianne Moore in her deep blue sequinned Tom Ford dress – she always gets it so right and with her skin tone it was beautiful to look at.
Next month its more awards, and a big highlight for me – my engagement party! Im trying to get fit with the Olympian Louise Hazel who is amazing, and I’m working on looking youthful with the help of facialist Anastacia Achilleos… so I hope by early February I will be red carpet ready myself!
