Start with where you actually sleep! Make sure that your bed and mattress are comfortable as both have a big impact on your day to day health.

If you find it hard to relax in your bedroom, we’d recommend avoiding bright colours and disconcerting decoration. Instead, think about adding lots of soft textures. An easy way to do this is to add lots of comforting cushions and luscious covers.

SLEEP IN DARKNESS

It’s very hard to sleep when your room is lit, that is why it’s a good idea to create darkness in your bedroom. Try using blackout curtains and turning off your TV, alarms and anything else that might radiate light that may wake you up at night.

MAKE IT A NO TV, NO WORK ZONE

When it comes to technology, make sure that you don’t watch TV in bed as this will stimulate your brain and keep you awake and always prevent yourself from working in bed, be in on your laptop or even checking emails on your phone.

TIDY ENVIRONMENT

Recently it has been suggested that rooms that are cluttered cause anxiety in individuals, which makes it harder for them to fall asleep. So, invest in a bed with drawers or a storage bed to keep a tidy environment!

TEMPERATURE CHECK

A comfortable environment is when the room isn’t too hot or too cold. So be sure to keep it just right for when you’re ready for bed.
