Looking to transform your home with laminate flooring? Follow this step-by-step guide to learn how to install it yourself.

STEP 1: PRE-INSTALLATION
Allow the planks to acclimatize to the temperature of the room where you are going to install them. Leave them for at least 48 hours before you start installation.
STEP 2: EXTRAS
Ensure that you have ordered around 10% more flooring than you will need so that you have extra material in case you make some mistakes and need to start again.
STEP 3: PREPARATION
Prepare your floor before installation by cleaning it and freeing it from debris. Make sure that it’s perfectly dry too before you start.
STEP 4: LAY LAMINATE UNDERLAY
A laminate underlay is a layer of material which is placed between the subfloor and the laminate. It protects and adds comfort underfoot and has soundproofing properties too.
STEP 5: INSTALL THE FLOORING
Lay the laminate planks snugly together and tap them gently into place using the correct installation tools. Have a look at our video guide below…

Install the final plank of laminate carefully then proceed with accessories, such as door bars and beading.
