Top tips for getting a sleep-in

The chill in the air and leaves threatening to change from lush green to rusty red are clear signs that autumn is here – and when the clocks go back on Sunday 27th October the dark mornings and nights will be an additional reminder.

While longer nights and colder weather aren’t something most people look forward to, the clocks going back does bring one benefit. The extra hour we get in bed means this bittersweet day is known as ‘National Sleep-in Day’ – so how can you make sure you get this promised lie-in?

– Create a sleep friendly environment, using blinds to block out light

– Reduce snoring by sleeping on your front or side, or consider an adjustable bed

– Invest in a comfortable, supportive mattress that is big enough for your needs

– Plan a busy day so you will fall into a deep sleep faster
