Summer days out

The summer holidays are fast approaching – but where will you be going?

Going on holiday is the perfect time to rest, relax and enjoy yourself. Also, whether it’s a staycation or a far-flung destination, there is potential to pick up inspiration and ideas for our homes. Who wouldn’t want to bring a bit of sunshine back home with them?

Let us introduce our Day Trips collection, where we’ve covered everything from afternoon tea, trips to the seaside, country houses and stylish boutique hotels. Enjoy!

Afternoon tea

Who doesn’t love going for afternoon tea? Delicious sandwiches, Bake Off-worthy cakes and scones and endless cups of tea all sound like heaven to us. And even if you can’t make it to a fancy hotel or local country house, you can bring the atmosphere (and food) to your home! A vintage-looking tea trolley, tasty treats, a teapot and of course, an obligatory cake stand are all you need to recreate the experience at home.

Country house

Escaping to the country has never been so easy – or stylish. Eye-catching prints, a neutral colour palette and ornate accessories are all you need to duplicate that five-star feeling at home. And it’ll be even better if you can manage to make your own at-home spa, too. Who needs a fancy hotel?

A trip to the seaside

The British seaside really does hold a special place in so many of our hearts. Whether it’s the ice-cream parlours, the fish and chip shops, the in-your-face arcades or simply the promise of rest and relaxation, us Brits tend to flock to the coast as soon as the weather picks up. Introduce a subtle and classy coastal-meets-nautical scheme into your home via muted blues, plenty of fresh whites and with the occasional hint of red for a true seaside ambience.

Boutique hotel

The rise in popularity of the boutique hotel is impossible to ignore – more and more of us are opting to stay in small independents over larger chain hotels; swapping impressive lobbies and four poster beds for quirkier spaces. Why can’t we all have that fancy boutique feel at home? Go for eye-catching, statement floors and paint walls in a bold colour and you’ll feel like you’ve already checked in for a week of bliss…
