How to get a better night’s sleep
The results are in and a surprising number of you are not regularly achieving a healthy, refreshing night’s sleep. It seems a large number of us struggle to drift off to sleep, or find ourselves waking up in the middle of the night.
This is most commonly due to worrying, experiencing bodily discomfort or for those in a relationship, due to a partner’s movements in bed. If you suffer from any of these problems, read our top tips on sleep hygiene.
When to replace your mattress
One important sleep consideration that many of you seem to be overlooking, is the current condition of your mattress. 40.1% of people surveyed have a mattress that is six years or older in age. A study by The Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) showed beds that were just six years old were much less comfortable than a new one.
An outdated mattress can significantly affect your ability to sleep well, so if you’re struggling to sleep check to see if your mattress is showing any signs of deterioration – if it is, it may just be time to replace it! As a minimum, we’d recommend replacing your mattress every 7 years.
