Gorgeous nursery ideas for your new-born

With August being the most popular month for babies to be born, it’s time to start decorating that nursery ready for your tiny bundle of joy. Although a magical experience, nursery decorating can also be pretty stressful – especially when it’s down to you to get it just right!

To help you get ahead of the game, here are some fantastic ideas for your new-born’s nursery which are sure to impress.

1. The shape-shifter

Choosing to have a retro nursery is definitely on trend, so why not add a touch of geometric charm for good measure? Choose furniture that is made up of a variety of different shapes along with a comfortable chair that you’re bound to find yourself sitting at night and when comforting your baby.

You can also choose a patterned carpet to add a touch of retro glamour to the room. Striped carpets can work well, and help to add some comfortable charm.

2. Branch out a bit

There’s nothing better than creating a beautiful motif for the wall. Whether you choose a cool tree with branches made from love hearts or a huge car that any little one will love as he grows up, is up to you. Just remember to keep the rest of the room neutral with cream carpets or rugs as this will ensure the motif acts as a focal point.

 3. Antique elegance

Even though the traditional nursery is all white and cream and cute, there’s no reason you can’t add a bit of subtle bling or glamour to your child’s nursery, if this suits your style. Opt for a stunning antique chandelier and some vintage-style drawers and shelves for something ulta-special. Add a lovely mobile above the crib to ensure it’s baby appropriate and you’re right on track!

4. Go mad for modern

Mix up a number of patterns and shades to create the ultimate contemporary look. You could even go neon bold if you really fancied it. Alternatively, add a bright, fun carpet that’s ideal for kids and sure to add plenty of playful vibes to their new room.

Every new mum needs a space that is comfy and cosy. Seeing as you’ll be spending a great deal of time in the nursery, there’s no reason you can’t make this a comfortable space so add lots of cushions, bean bags and ensure you have a soft thick carpet so the room remains warm and comfortable under your toes.

6. A blast of colour

Whether you’re having a boy or a girl, there’s absolutely no reason you can’t ensure the room is vibrant and full of colour for your little one. You could also purchase a brightly coloured bed for when your new born get’s too big for his crib. It won’t take long for him to grow and it will be more cost effective in the long run to prepare for the future. Adding a couple of patterned rugs to the room will break up solid colours, and will add some softness underfoot for your little one.
