Carpetright staff bake and pedal for the British Heart Foundation

Staff baked cakes and wore red to raise funds

The Carpetright Store Support Office has been busy with its fundraising activities for the British Heart Foundation once again.  Colleagues at the head office joined in with Carpetright’s chosen charity’s  Wear it Red campaign last week adorning red t-shirts, dresses and shirts (and sometimes socks!) all in the name of this worthy cause.

Some staff also spent their own time baking cakes to sell which proved to be very popular indeed.  In fact, there were just a few crumbs left at the end of the day!   One colleague even gave henna tattoos and was kept very busy with a constant stream of customers who were all very pleased with the results.

Henna tattoos were a highlight of the day

Colleagues at SSO also enjoyed a raffle with some fabulous prizes donated by Carpetright suppliers and members of staff.  The collection tins were full by the end of the day and the total raised by the head office was just short of £700 –  a fantastic result.

On Sunday 18th June, four members of staff cycled from London to Brighton in gruelling 30+ degrees heat.  Chris Jestico, Tom Renphrey, Marcel Borlin and Samuel Parker joined many other cyclists braving the heat for this annual event to raise money for this fantastic cause.  Crossing the line in just over 4 hours, the Carpetright four raised an incredible £1250 as of Monday 19th June, with the figure rising.  This combined with the SSO funds brought the total raised to an amazing £1,950 and counting. A fabulous achievement so thanks to everyone who contributed.
