It may seem a little premature to discuss autumn, but with September just around the corner, it’s time to brush up on the latest trends and ideas!
Florals never really go out of style, but this season they’re back with a bang! Dramatic, over-sized and in any colour going, big blousy prints create a pre-Raphaelite feel, which will work particularly well in period homes with high ceilings and big windows. For a grown-up twist, avoid pastels and go for dark, moody hues.
Go for gold
Maybe it’s the Royal Wedding that has drawn us to jewel colours, but gold is certainly standing tall this season. If the idea of gold flooring or walls is a bit too much for you, look at accessories and furniture for inspiration. Whether you opt for gold cushions, or perhaps a vintage-inspired gold drinks trolley, you can’t go wrong!
Black and white and stylish all over
Monochrome is not going anywhere any time soon. And why would it? It goes with everything, looks classic but contemporary and works in any room, no matter the size. From a monochrome kitchen to bathroom, to bedroom or entrance hall, this simple colour scheme just works. Not feeling brave enough to make the monochrome move completely? Treat yourself to plenty of black accessories to add a cool edge to an otherwise neutral room.
This trend may not sound like anything new (we’ve all heard of millennial pink, of course), but dusty pinks and near raspberry hues are overtaking the more vibrant and pastel shades. Pink looks especially beautiful with greys and metallic accessories (see the gold trend above!), but introduce different shades and textures to the room to avoid it looking like Paris Hilton’s house…
In the navy
Regal navy and deep, moody blues have been making waves for quite a while in interiors now – but here comes the real push. Classy navy walls, royal-inspired carpets, modern rugs or opulent velvet sofas – navy complements any style of house and is one of the easiest ways for you to make a real statement.
Green, grey, white or black – we can’t get enough of marble and you can now get your hands on pretty much anything marble-inspired! From cushions to wallpaper to floors, this luxurious trend is taking over kitchens and bathrooms all over the world – so what are you waiting for?
