Is it time you introduced some colour into your home?
Hands up if your whole house is decorated in neutral hues! Timeless, chic and guaranteed to look good, it’s no surprise that so many of us are drawn to the paler side of life. However, just because grey is the new beige doesn’t mean that we can’t all experiment with a little bit of colour here and there.
There’s no need to be afraid of going for bold, vibrant colours – even if you’re nervous to branch out to a bit of colour, there are ways to ease you in!
Colourful accent wall
Light and bright or dark and dramatic, a feature wall is one of the quickest (and cheapest!) ways to completely transform a room. From moody dark blues to a vibrant orange, add the wow-factor in just one afternoon. A great way to introduce colour into your home, the brighter and bolder the colour, the better!
Accent wall a bit too much for you? Then go softly, softly with some fun accessories. From loud cushions to lampshades, eye-catching rugs, colourful photo frames or vibrant vases, there’s been an explosion of colour in high street shops, so you certainly won’t struggle to find any bright trinkets or accessories.
Navy sofas. Pale pink armchairs. Bright yellow footstools. There are so many options for bright and colourful furniture that you’re spoilt for choice! If you don’t fancy your house resembling a rainbow (we can’t think why not), then focus on one key piece in a strong colour and keep everything else neutral.
Of course, we couldn’t let the opportunity pass – we’re all for bold flooring! From vibrant carpets, bright vinyl’s or even a modern patterned carpet, we can’t get enough of brave flooring choices. Shake things up a bit and choose your floor before you decide on the scheme for the rest of your room – trust us, you’ll find yourself drawn to things you never would be otherwise!
Following on from the flooring idea, it’s only right that we’d mention rugs too! From pretty florals to modern chevrons to stripes and butterflies, our collection of rugs look great and are perfect for creating ‘zones’ in rooms. Rugs also go with all floors, light or dark – they’re the perfect way to add some flair to your room!
The prettiest flowers and plants
A colourful floral arrangement or fresh-looking house plant can do more than simply purify the air – these botanical beauties also add vibrant hues to even the most neutral of homes. Dotted around, a huge statement plant in the corner, suspended from the ceiling… there’s so many options and each one looks amazing in its own right!
