Single sized beds are great all-rounders, which is why we have loads to choose from. The most versatile of bed sizes, they’re a great long term option for kids, lasting well into their teens, but can also fit snugly into guest rooms.
Single beds are ideal for people who sleep on their own. They’re small enough to fit into little spaces, yet wide enough to ensure you get a great night’s sleep. Depending on how much space you have and who’s sleeping in it, you’ll need to choose between a small and a standard single.
3’0 single beds are a popular choice, ticking all the boxes for single sleepers with small rooms. As a result, we have an extensive range to choose from, including divans, ottomans and kids’ beds.

2’6 single beds are the smallest size we offer here at Carpetright, because we believe in comfort and quality that lasts. Anything smaller wouldn’t be comfortable for an adult, and wouldn’t last very long for a growing child.

If it’s tiny, then consider a single bed with storage underneath (Ottomans offer the most space). If it’s a large room, it might feel quite empty and hollow with a single bed, so may be worth considering a small or standard double.
Floor space is important as it can make a room feel much bigger, lighter and brighter. But if you can afford to lose a bit of that space and want a cosier feel, it might be worth considering the next size up with drawer or ottoman storage underneath, to make up for lost floor space.
Is it for regular guests? Perhaps you can get their input. Is it for your child? Then ask them what they like. Remember, single beds are extremely versatile and can be used for guests once teenage kids have moved out, or vice versa.
Maybe your kids like having friends stay over, or your family like to make impromptu visits. Then it would be worth considering a bunk bed, small fold away singles, pull out guest beds or even a sofa bed. These are particularly handy when someone turns up unannounced at your front door!
