Soft and luxurious rugs can add warmth to hard flooring such laminate and vinyl that is so on trend at the moment, try a wool rug or even a sheepskin rug. Enhance the vibrancy of your room with minimum disruption by overlaying a rug such as an oriental rug or persian rug on neutral flooring or tone down a patterned carpet by carefully selecting a thick, large, shaggy rug where it matters most.

Q: How can I make my large room feel cosier?A:
Carpets are fantastic for transforming large rooms into warmer and more inviting spaces by introducing texture and colour. Rich, deep Saxony carpets in dark, warming tones can add a cosy, luxurious look, as well as feel indulgent underfoot. You could also consider a more textured look with a Loop Pile carpet. These add warmth and softness to a room, with subtle tones and wonderful rustic finish.
Q: What’s the best type of flooring for my kitchen?A:
The kitchen is often the busiest room in our homes, having to cope with heavy footfall as well as spills and splashes from cooking and daily chores, so it makes sense to choose a hardworking and durable flooring that can withstand all types of wear and tear.
I would suggest opting for a tough vinyl floorcovering. Vinyl is one of the most practical solutions for kitchens as it is waterproof, very hardwearing and low maintenance, making it universally popular and one of the top choices for kitchens. Not only is it my choice for practicality, but I also love the fact that vinyl comes in a huge variety of designs and patterns so you really can go to town choosing a design that compliments the style of your kitchen and your decor from bold and graphic contemporary prints to patterns that emulate a whole range of natural products. Many of the good quality vinyl ranges compete with real tiles, stone and wood in looks and quality but at a fraction of the cost of the real thing.
Q: I really like wooden floors but can’t afford them, what do you suggest?A:
Solid wood floors look beautiful but can be extremely expensive, so if you don’t want to blow your budget it is worth investigating wood-effect options which can look great and cost a fraction of solid wood. Laminate flooring is a great value option and available at Carpetright from just £7.99sq.mtr.
Made from a high density compressed fiberboard plank covered with a photographic image and a protective top layer, it is available in a multitude of thicknesses, designs and effects, including embossed surfaces and beveled edges for a realistic looking ‘floorboard’ finish.
Laminate flooring is also extremely easy to fit, maintain and keep clean, however some ranges are not suitable for wet areas like bathrooms or kitchens so check the specific range details before buying. With a little care, laminate will give you the wooden floor look that lasts– in fact some of the laminate ranges at Carpetright are guaranteed for 25 years!
For even greater value, you could also consider a wood effect vinyl as an inexpensive and practical alternative. Some of the wood effect designs look just as good as the real thing with the added benefit of being completely waterproof and warm underfoot.

A CELEBRATION OF COLOUR
This summer it’s all about a celebration of bright, bold and fresh colours and contemporary design. Matching vivid shades with monochrome, and introducing digital photographic prints creates a dynamic and modern look.
If you're not feeling up to brightening up your living room just yet, how about your hallway? A ...
Nothing is cooler this summer than a breath of fresh sea air in the home. Bring a traditional maritime look to life with a textured carpet, nautical accessories and weathered objects found at the beach. Don't forget that this look will work well carried through to your hallway too - an area that is often forgotten.

Why use an adhesive spray or vinyl tape?
Create a professional finish and a beautiful complete interior with the right flooring accessories. When fitting, be sure to use spray adhesive or vinyl tape to secure your chosen flooring. Headboards Are Multifunctional
A beautiful headboard does not only make a statement, because it is the first thing you notice as you walk into the bedroom, but it is also practical and useful. Many individuals enjoy reading in bed and soft, padded headboards allow this time to be comfortable without even needing pillows or cushions.
There are also headboards that have storage behind them. This will allow those who love contemporary bedrooms with the minimalistic look to maintain a pristine bedroom interior design.
Who said that practicality has to come at a price? With Carpetright headboards you can have decorative beauty with practicality and usefulness.
How To Remove Bed Bugs
If you are wondering how to get rid of bed bugs, we have a few tips. Unfortunately, bed bugs are very easy to pick up on holiday or while travelling. Firstly, when you find you have a problem, wash your bed covers in hottest temperature to kill those horrible bedbugs and their eggs. A fun fact is that some people do not make their beds, as this will provide less places for hiding as well as lack of moisture and low temperatures that bed bugs dislike. Although, it might possibly just be an excuse they tell their mothers...
Don’t forget that bed bugs like to hide, so by getting rid of clutter in the bedroom it is easier to spot infestation. Clean everything thoroughly, and regularly, and keep the bed away from the wall. Additionally, if you vacuum the bed it will help get rid of the bugs that are hiding as well as their offspring. These are some suggestions, of course when the problem gets out of hand ring the professional pest control immediately.
High Traffic Areas
The Paralympics Games have arrived and we all want to watch the sports and also celebrate the Olympic British medals from the weeks previously! This means you are entertaining a lot of family and friends at home and so you need floors that are kept stain free. Try out vinyl flooring for an easy to clean floor that allows you to accommodate lots of people without the hassle of extra cleaning.
Wood effect vinyl flooring or marble floor designs can easily be found by brands such as Bounce and Planet, or go for a cheaper alternative; laminate flooring. Is your bathroom also a high traffic area? Then, it’s definitely worth also having a look at the hardwearing bathroom vinyl flooring. Our particular favourite is the modern Rhino Step Nevada Carbon vinyl flooring because not only is it hardwearing, slip resistant and has thick layers for extra comfort underfoot but also its stone tile design keeps us absolutely mesmerised.
You may be asking yourself questions like; what carpet is in fashion? What is the best carpet for my living room? Style-wise, our resident expert, Diana Civil is here to share her inspirational ideas with you.
Will your new carpet be in a place where a lot of traffic is likely to pass through it such as a hallway or on the stairs? If so, it is highly recommended that you invest in a good underlay.

With so many types of laminate flooring available from Carpetright, it can sometimes be hard to choose! From wood effect laminate flooring to natural stone effect, the options are endless!
Once you get your new flooring, you’ll naturally want to know how you can get the best out of it. Choosing the right cleaning product can certainly help, for example, it is advised that you shouldn’t use a strong detergent with water on laminate flooring as it can result in a bubble effect.
Sometimes referred to as lino, vinyl flooring has revolutionised flooring as we know it. Available in lots of different styles including; wood effect, stone effect, and varying funky patterns, you’ll love the freedom of choice that vinyl flooring can offer to all budgets.
A doormat can help accessorise your lino and keep out your vinyl floor’s two greatest enemies: dirt and chemicals. Tracked-in dirt means extra cleaning time and grit can act like sandpaper which could remove the finish from your floor. Rugs can also look great and accessorise your floor.
Fear not, at Carpetright we have an extensive selection of traditional and modern rugs to choose from.
