Vinyl on Uneven Floor

To ensure a perfect finish, vinyl flooring needs to be fitted onto a smooth, even and dry floor. If the original flooring is wooden then it needs to be hard boarded or ply boarded while original concrete flooring will need to be screeded (self-levelling compound).

Vinyl should never be fitted over existing vinyl flooring, ceramic tiles or directly over floorboards as the contours will show through from the uneven surface below. If the subfloor is not dry the vinyl will also discolour over time.
