The average 80 year old has spent over 26.5 years sleeping. That's why choosing the right mattress is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make. Luckily, we've got all the experience, know-how and advice you need to ensure you make the right decision at the right price. After all, we're not called Carpetright for nothing!

Mattress Support Ratings

Mattresses feel different to different people. The best way to find out whether you like the feel of one is to try it out. We recommend you lie on as many mattresses as possible. The longer you lie on one, the better sense you'll have of whether it's right for you.

Mattresses can be made from a number of materials and ways. They feel different depending on which materials they're made from. To help you find the right one for you, we've created a guide called our Support Rating System. This shows whether a mattress feels soft, medium or firm.

SOFT: If you sleep on your side, a soft mattress will take the pressure off your hips and shoulders by letting them mould into the mattress.

MEDIUM: If you move around a lot in your sleep, a medium mattress is great for giving you support in all sleeping positions.

FIRM: If you sleep on your front or back, a firm mattress will help keep your spine in the correct position. Just make sure you have a good pillow at the right height too.

All Foam

Choose one of our all-foam mattresses and you'll benefit from the all-over even support of traditional foam with the added bonus of a layer of memory foam giving you support just where you need it. Many people feel this combination provides the best night's sleep, but of course, everyone's different, so why not drop in to your nearest Carpetright store and see for yourself.

Memory Foam and Open Coil Spring

If you're looking for the support of memory foam but also the bounce of traditional springs, then our coil spring mattress could be right for you. Because our open coil construction is a good quality, yet highly affordable spring system that can be combined with a layer of memory foam, you may well find it's the best of both worlds.

Memory Foam and Pocket Coil Spring

Like our open coil construction, each spring sits next to the other but also sits in its own, unique fabric pocket. This enables the springs to work independently and ultimately provide you with very effective, even support. It's especially useful for those who share a bed as the construction allows for uninterrupted sleep even if your partner moves a lot in their sleep.

At Carpetright, we understand that foam may not be to your liking. That's why we also offer you an extensive range of open coil and pocket sprung mattresses with traditional fillings. Sleep soundly with the power of Aloe Vera! This plant is proven to have soothing and healing effects, so we've created a mattress treated with its essential oils.

Silk

If you're looking for a soft and luxurious feel to your mattress then our knitted fabric, woven with silk proteins, could be for you.

Cashmere

With a softer feel than ordinary wool, cashmere is knitted into the fabric, giving you not only thermo insulation benefits, but also moisture absorbing characteristics.
